That tells you all you need to know about western sham democracy
There has been a big uproar in western media outlets since june about Joe Biden. and his capacity to to run as the presidential candidate. On the surface, much of this criticism has been a long time coming. His embarrassing performance at the debate made one thing very clear. He is in an advanced stage stage of dementia. It does not stop there. I mean it is very easy to confuse Zelensky with Putin, right? Happens to me almost daily.
But when we analyze the media reaction, there are two things that are striking. For one, his ramblings are not news at all. There are countless accounts of Joe Biden rambling, wandering off, and going blank. So far, however, pundits dismissed these accounts as Russian propaganda tactics. Or far-right conspiracy theories. So, what changed?
Secondly, you have all kinds of experts telling us that Joe Biden should not run for president. But they leave out a very important bit of context. The primary season is already over. So the timing will only allow for a top-down replacement of Joe Biden at the national convention. How convenient, that no voters need to get involved about this.
Thirdly, there is a very important question that the pundits never ask. Who runs the show right now? After all, Joe Biden is currently the president. If he is not fit for the role, then someone must be. Who is that someone? Is it someone that anyone voted for? Probably not. And this brings me to the core point I want to make.
The Joe Biden Debacle Proves That the Forces That Shape the Political Landscape Are Not Elected at All
Whether a country has a functional democracy depends on more than elections. We know this, because all Regimes, even the most totalitarian ones hold elections. I grew up in East Germany. My dad used to tell me a lot about the “elections”, where the ruling party always got 99% of the votes. The real question is whether elections have a real influence on the key political issues.
Joe Biden must have a mandate from the voters AND the capacity to make actual decisions. But it is clear for all to see that the latter is not the case at all. This can only lead to one logical conclusion. Joe Biden is a figurehead of a system in which the key decisions are taken somewhere else by someone else. This is very contrary to the principle of a democracy. My guess is that the actual rulers are Oligarch elites. Mostly in tandem with high-ranking officials. Those officials get appointed by decree, rather than election. So in essence, it is no different from Russia, Cuba, or anywhere else on the planet for that matter. Democracy is an illusion.
It is also noticeable that many key issues are never on the ballot. And these issues are never discussed by the media. Is it really the will of american people to use their tax-money to fund a huge military machine? A machine that is a cesspool of corruption and a massive money waster? And a major destructive force for the environment and peace? This is a political direction that has a massive influence on the daily lives of voters. Yet this never changes. No matter if a president is red or blue. For heavens sake, even Eisenhower warned about this eons ago.
If an Elected Leader Does Not Lead, There Is No Democracy
I want to make this clear. The mental health of Joe Biden is not a concern for future elections. He is already the president. So if his mental state is a danger to democracy in three months from now, it must be a problem already today.
It must mean, that someone else is calling the shots and that someone else is not doing so by a democratic vote. You can call this situation a deep state conspiracy, fascism, or an oligarchy. It does not matter. Those are just names. The fact is, that it is not is a democracy. Let that sink in. And do not think for a moment, that the situation is different in other western “democracies”.
This also means, that the free press is not really free at all. Because they refuse to ask these important questions. It is irrelevant, whether they are being censored, or they censor themselves. The end result is the same. The media outlets are not practicing journalism. And they are not protectors of democracy. The only true protectors of democracy are people coming together and organizing themselves. In true democratic fashion and with the aim to improve their communities. Maybe we should start to invest more of our attention and efforts in those communities. And not sham elections that do not make a difference at all.
